NCSAA Coronavirus Update & Survey3/24/2020 We wanted to give a quick update and then ask a favor.
Unfortunately, we have no real news to pass along. Much like most of the country, we're waiting to see what the next steps are? We will be following a couple things closely:
NOW... for the favor... Regardless of how the Spring Season unfolds we have to start planning for the 2020-2021 School Year. In doing so we need to figure out what rules worked and what needs to be reworked. This survey is a brief 4 question survey that should only take you a few minutes. Every coach of any sport is welcome to submit answers. The more feedback the better. We will not take your answers personally or be offended by them. We may, however, reach out at some point to ask for clarification or discuss. We ask that you keep your answers to be about the written rules and not about the officials. We'd love a response by Tuesday, April 7th. https://www.ncsaasports.com/rulesurvey.html We would like to reiterate everyday preventive actions that should be taken:

Here is all the information you need to know:
NOVICE Division: TUMBLING • Standing tumbling: limited in difficulty to a single standing back handspring. Jump/handspring combinations and series handsprings are not allowed. For example, standing tucks and/or aerials are not allowed. • Standing tumbling is defined as any tumbling skill not originating from a cartwheel or round-off. • Running tumbling: limited in difficulty to front and/or back handspring series. Skills including, but not limited to, the following are not permitted: flips (tucks), aerials, punch fronts, etc. • Running tumbling is defined as tumbling that involves a forward step or a hurdle used to gain momentum as an entry to a tumbling skill. STUNTS 1. Extended stunts are limited to both feet in the base(s) hands at all times. Both of the top person’s feet must be held throughout the entire transition to/from the extended position. Exception: Straight bump-down dismounts are allowed as part of a pyramid dismount. 2. Single leg stunts may not be held or pass through an extended position. 3. Twisting stunt transitions are limited to a ½ twist. Exception: A single full twisting log/barrel roll is allowed as long as it starts and ends in a cradle position, does not involve any skill other than the twist, and is not assisted by and/or connected to another top person. 4. All release moves must land in a cradle. 5. The only stunt inversions allowed are: a. Transitions from ground level inversions up to non-inverted positions. Example: Going from a handstand on the ground to a non-inverted stunt such as a shoulder sit is allowed. b. Suspended forward rolls where two people on the performing surface control the top person in a suspended forward roll with continuous hand-to-hand contact to a stunt, two person cradle, loading position, or the performing surface. If caught in a cradle, load, or stunt, the new catchers must be in place and may not be involved in any other skill when the suspended forward roll is initiated. During the roll, the feet of the top person must be released. c. Dismounts to the performing surface from waist level stunts. Example: Waist level prone to forward roll dismount or cradle position to back walkover dismount. PYRAMIDS 1. All single leg extended stunts must be braced by two top persons at prep level or lower. The braced connection must be established at prep level or lower before the stunt passes into the extended level, and constant contact between the top person and the bracers must be maintained while the top person is on one leg above prep level. 2. Any time a top person is released by bases during a pyramid transition, the top person must be braced by two top persons at prep level or below with hand-arm connection only and constant contact between the top person and the bracers must be maintained throughout the transition. 3. Twisting pyramid transitions are limited to a ½ twist. 4. Pyramid inversions are not allowed. DISMOUNTS “Dismount” is defined as the movement of a top person from a stunt and/or pyramid to a cradle position or to the performing surface. • Only straight pop downs/bump downs, basic straight cradles, ¼ turn dismounts, and dismounts from waist level inversions are allowed. All other dismounts are prohibited. INTERMEDIATE Division TUMBLING • Standing Tumbling: limited in difficulty to a standing back handspring series and/or jump/handspring(s) combination. Tucks and/or aerials are not allowed. For example, a standing back tuck or standing back handspring back tuck is not allowed. • Standing tumbling is defined as any tumbling skill not originating from a cartwheel or roundoff. • Running Tumbling: limited in difficulty to tucks. Round off back tucks and round off back handspring back tucks are examples of skills that are allowed. Aerial cartwheels are also allowed. Punch fronts are not allowed. Cartwheel tucks, cartwheel tucked flips and/or cartwheel back handspring(s) tucks are not allowed. The following types of advanced running tumbling skills are prohibited: X-outs, layouts, full twists, etc. No tumbling is allowed after a tuck (flip) or aerial skill. • Running tumbling is defined as tumbling that involves a forward step or a hurdle used to gain momentum as an entry to a tumbling skill. STUNTS 1. Extended single leg stunts are allowed. 2. Only a ½ twist is allowed to any extended single leg stunt. 3. All other twisting transitions may not exceed 1 twisting transition. 4. Stunt release moves must start at or below prep level and must be caught at prep level or below. Release moves may not pass above the base’s/bases’ extended arm level. PYRAMIDS 1. All pyramid twisting transitions must follow all dismount and stunt twisting transition rules. 2. Pyramid inversions: A braced forward or backward flip is allowed while adhering to the “USA Cheer/AACCA School Cheer Safety Rules” rules on braced flips; however, two bracers are required, no twisting is allowed, and the flip must end in a cradle dismount or cradle transition position. 3. Extended single leg stunts may not be braced by other extended single leg stunts. DISMOUNTS “Dismount” is defined as the movement of a top person from a stunt and/or pyramid to a cradle position or to the performing surface. 1. RULE CHANGES ADOPTED AT THE 11/19/19 WINTER BASKETBALL MEETING
REMINDER: Don't setup your own teams in National Sports ID. NCSAA will setup your National Sports ID Teams for you this season. We've had a few schools create their own teams incorrectly and this could cause issues later. This is how teams show as verified without physicals and waivers. A few schools did this incorrectly this Fall and had issues. We've made the process even easier, you just have to tell us what you need. Once you fill out your Winter Basketball Team Registration online at https://www.ncsaasports.com/basketballregistration.html we will build your team and add you as the Head Coach. You then add players by simply searching for returning player from Fall or send a personalized email link to those who didn't play in the Fall to join NSID. Returning players don't have to do anything. New players will have to do the entire process. You may re-submit your Basketball Registration as many times as you need until November 22 at 6PM. The earlier the better for our planning and for you to get started on the process. If you have already made your own teams make sure you add "Melanie Mark" as coaches so we can fix your settings and avoid issues.

Hi Everyone -
We held off on sending out any updates the first week of school. Hopefully, everyone has made it out in one piece. Here are some updates and reminders I wanted to pass along... 1.) Each school needs to do 2 things in order to register to play this Fall. First, we need you to go to our website and submit your team registration (if you haven’t done so yet) at https://www.ncsaasports.com/register.html You may make adjustments to this registration until Friday, August 30th at 6pm. If you need to make a change, simply re-submit the form. The earlier the better. Second, we need you to setup your teams in National Sports ID. 2.) National Sports ID is required for ALL student-athletes -- regardless of the age or sport. Everyone must be fully approved by September 11. Physicals are required for ALL student-athletes (K-8). They have an incredibly helpful chat for support in the bottom left of every page. If you run into an issue please use their chat or email admin@nationalsportsid.com. I prefer you go through them as they're the experts on the software. There is a duplicate roster feature that makes life easy once you setup your first team. Please remember to include your school's full name, division, and sport in the name. For instance "Pinecrest Cadence JV Girl's Volleyball" as opposed to "Cougars Athletics" or "PCC" As a quick review, here are the things parents will need in order to complete the National Sports ID:
4.) Flag Football - Once you register your teams through http://www.ncsaasports.com/register I will bring you 14 brand new triple threat flags (per team) for you to keep. Flag Playoff Dates will be: November 12-15 (at various sites under the lights) with our Championships being on November 16th at Pinecrest Sloan Canyon. The top 8 teams from each competitive division will make the playoffs. Playoff Brackets & Flag Football Rules are now online at https://www.ncsaasports.com/flag.html 5.) Volleyball - Rules are available on our website. Volleyball Playoffs will be: 1st Round Nov. 4-6 (various sites), Semi-finals Nov. 7-8 at Vegas Aces Volleyball Club Facility in Henderson, Championships on Saturday, November 9th (Location TBD - will be same location as Cheerleading Competition). Brackets & Rules can be found at https://www.ncsaasports.com/girlsvolleyball.html 6.) Playoff Seeding Tiebreakers for Flag Football & Volleyball: 1) Head to Head 2) Points/Sets Against (PA in Standings) 3) Schedule Strength (Opponents W/L) 4) Coin Toss 6.) Our Google Calendar was showing up for some as "free/busy" but didn't display the information to all. That has been fixed. Now it’s easier than ever to sync our NCSAA Calendar to your Google Calendar. This includes all of our deadlines for NCSAA for the entire 2019 – 2020 School Year and gets updated in real time by us. https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=sports%40ncsaasports.com&ctz=America%2FLos_Angeles You can also sync our calendar to your iCal: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/sports%40ncsaasports.com/public/basic.ics Lastly, all of our deadlines and important dates are available in the Events Section of our @NCSAASports Facebook Page. 7.) Cross Country Meet Locations Finalized: Event #1 - Monday Night, September 9th - Cornerstone Park Event #2 - Monday Night, September 16th - Craig Ranch Park Event #3 - Monday Night, September 23rd - Sunset Park Event #4 - Monday Night, September 30th - Kellogg Zaher Park Event #5 - Monday Night, October 7th - Exploration Peak Park Championships/Event #6 - Monday Night, October 21 - Desert Breeze Park *There are no qualifiers for Championships. Everyone will be eligible to compete. We need Parent Volunteers to help mark the course during each meet. If you could have a few parents that are willing to wear a vest for us and stand on the course to help guide runners we would appreciate it. VERY IMPORTANT: Due to the way Athletic.net is setup... if you're trying to register an Elementary Team... Register them as Middle School... then put them on their own separate team ... select their grades correctly. That will put them on a team together and we'll pull them as an elementary school team. 8.) Fall AD Meeting on Monday Night, August 26th from 6-8pm at Mater Bonanza (4760 E Bonanza Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89110). You may bring as many coaches as you’d like to the meeting. Guests that will be present:

A couple things we wanted to pass along before school starts. 1.) We are making a small scheduling adjustment for all of our competitive divisions. We will now schedule 8 games for everyone. Those who make the playoffs will continue to play. Those who don’t make the playoffs will end their season after the 8th game. This will allow for teams to be able to plan better for their games. 2.) We have flags for you! Once you have officially registered at https://www.ncsaasports.com/register.htmlwe will bring you 14 brand new Triple Threat Flags to use for games and practices (per registered team). 3.) REMINDER: If your school has a balance, we will not allow your teams to play this Fall. We have a few schools that still need to pay their bill from last school year. We need to try to get those paid right away. 4.) We emailed all of our school a step-by-step guide to setting up your teams in National Sports ID. It also shows you how to directly invite parents to register directly for your team. If you still need this guide, it's available for download below or you can email us. We’d be happy to send to you. You should have all of your teams setup in our system by the end of this week. a. Remember to use your school’s full name and division when setting up each team. Instead of making it “Wildcat Football” it should be something like “Somerset Lone Mountain Elem Comp Flag” b. Don’t forget to add in your Assistant Coaches. c. If you need help with the National Sports ID process at any point in the bottom left of the NSID page is a Live Chat feature. They are there to help you. You may also email then at admin@nationalsportsid.com d. Remember the deadline to have all of your student-athletes approved in National Sports ID is Wednesday, September 11. ![]()

NATIONAL SPORTS ID Say goodbye to bringing your team’s photo roster each week to NCSAA game sites! We’ve heard your roster complaints and understand how frustrating the process was last season. Now, every NCSAA student-athlete is required to certify on National Sports ID and complete all the steps before being eligible to play. Once they have certified they’re clear for the next 365 days. There is a link on our website or you can send them to: https://www.nationalsportsid.com/ncsaa-fall-sports-age-verification/ National Sports ID makes it easy for you to create a coach account, for parents or you to submit the documents and for NSID to view and verify them.
