2023-24 NCSAA Sports6/30/2023 Enclosed you will find an overview of almost everything your school needs to know to get started with the upcoming school year for athletics. This will cover all of our sports with projected season and deadline dates as well as divisions. Please forward this to the appropriate person within your school who handles sports. In addition, you can always refer to http://ncsaasports.com for more information. As always, you can email us with questions/concerns at sports@ncsaasports.com
UNIFORMS All Flag Football, Volleyball, Basketball, and Soccer uniforms must have numbers on BOTH sides of the jersey this season. IMPORTANT SPORTS DATES & DEADLINES FALL SEASON (Flag Football, Girl's Volleyball, Cross Country, T-Ball/Coach Pitch Baseball)
$825/Team for Flag Football, Baseball, Volleyball $10.50/Athlete per race for Cross Country FEES In order to allow each school to have time to collect fees from families we will not charge schools for sports until the end of each season. This means you won't receive a bill from NCSAA until late October/early November for the Fall Season. This gives you time to work with those families that may need to setup a payment plan or fundraise. All sports will be put on 1 invoice per school. You will have 30 days to pay the invoice once it's sent out. PHYSICALS Physicals are required for all student-athletes within 12 months of the start of the sport. These are not collected by NCSAA or National Sports ID. They are collected by the school’s Athletic Director and to be keep on file. By allowing a student-athlete to play the school is acknowledging the student-athlete has passed a physical. NATIONAL SPORTS ID National Sports ID Requirements to be completed and approved by roster deadline each season. Anyone without a fully verified National Sports ID will not be permitted to play. Returning players with a National Sports ID account will just need to update their information in the system and pay the annual fee. New players will need to do the entire process. A player that is verified but NOT on the roster is considered ineligible to play. They must be fully verified AND on the roster.

OFFICIALS There is a nationwide shortage of officials that’s heavily impacting Nevada. This is impacting high school and youth sports across the valley. There may be times when NCSAA will make alterations to the number of officials on the field for games based on availability. This is not a cost-cutting measure or a miscommunication from the league. These games will count and not be postponed or replayed should there only be 1 official available. This is not simply a “just go train some more officials” situation. Our officials association does an amazing job of posting ads and providing training. There are just not enough officials at times. We will work together to get through it as a sports community. RECREATIONAL DIVISIONS Our Recreational Division will not keep an official score or have standings or playoffs. These games will be designed to introduce the student-athletes to the sport of flag football without the pressures of winning or losing. PLAYOFFS Playoffs are for our competitive divisions only. The Regular Season will consist of an 8 game Season. For divisions of 31 or less teams, the top 8 teams will make the playoffs. For divisions of 32-41 teams the top 12 teams will make the playoffs. For divisions of 42-48 teams the top 16 teams will make the playoffs. There may be doubleheaders in the playoffs. TIE-BREAKERS 2 Teams Tied 1. Standings 2. Head to head 3. Least amount of points allowed 4. Coin Flip 3 or More Team Tied 1. Standings 2. Least amount of points allowed 3. Coin Flip CASTS For the safety of our participants, no student-athlete is allowed to play with a cast on (soft or hard) – even with a doctor’s note. We will NOT allow any padding to be put over it. There will be no exceptions to this rule. Spring Sports Are Back!2/24/2021 We're very encouraged by the constant flow of good news we're receiving. Here are some of the highlights:
In addition, we want to make sure our staff is available to you and your staff to answer any questions you may have regarding returning to play, our protocols, or rules. We'd be happy to do a zoom call with any school, staff, coaches, etc. We're happy to go through everything start to finish. We've done this already with about 20 schools. We kindly ask that you forward this to any appropriate administrators and staff members that were not included on this email. TENTATIVE SOCCER & VOLLEYBALL DATES Feb. 1 - March 18 Individualized Virtual Meetings with each school March 18 NCSAA Team Registration Deadline March 26 National Sports ID & Roster Deadline March 27 NCSAA Soccer & Volleyball Game Schedules Released April 10 First Game May 17-18 Makeup Games (for any games possibly cancelled due to covid/weather) May 18 - 21 NCSAA Soccer (under the lights) & Volleyball Playoffs May 22 Soccer Championship Games UPDATED SOCCER & VOLLEYBALL FEE STRUCTURE Schools will be charged $575 for all soccer and volleyball teams. In the event we are forced to cancel the season for Covid-19 NCSAA will charge schools $125 for the first week and $90 for each game of the regular season thereafter. NCSAA will credit host schools for actual games played as opposed to an hourly rate. Those schools who have a credit on their account for Spring 2020 will automatically be applied to your Spring 2021 invoice. Spring 21 Invoices will be emailed out towards the end of the Spring Season. No money will be collected for Soccer, Volleyball, or Cross Country until later in the season to allow schools to get their monies together during this tough economic period. REGISTERING YOUR SCHOOL FOR SOCCER & VOLLEYBALL Registration will be open in early February (we will make an announcement). Each school will submit 1 online form for all of their teams. You may change your mind, add, or drop teams as many times as you need up until the deadline without charge. However, once the deadline passes your teams will appear on the game schedule and you will be billed the full amount -- even if you drop a team. You don't have to submit names when registering your team -- just how many teams you will have. It would be advantageous for you to have had all of your tryouts prior to March 19th though -- as the season will start a few weeks later. You can register on our webpage at https://www.ncsaasports.com/ NATIONAL SPORTS ID CHANGES Every NCSAA Student-Athlete needs a verified National Sports ID to compete in any or all sports/activities including but not limited to Soccer, Cross Country, and Track. Under the circumstances, we will NOT require a sports physical for the 2020-2021 School Year. We will return to physicals next school year. Returning players with a National Sports ID account from the 2019-2020 School Year will just need to update any outdated information in the system, sign the new waiver, and renew their fee. New players will have to These changes should make it extremely easy for returning players to get re-verified quickly. 1. Headshot Photo – Similar to a Driver’s License or Student ID Photo. This should be a close-up, clearly lit photo that shows the student-athlete’s entire face and hair looking directly at the camera. No hats. No sunglasses. This can be a recent school photo or one simply taken from your cell phone. 2. Scan of Birth Certificate, State ID, or Passport 3. Proof of Grade – This can be your most recent report card, most recent School ID, school schedule showing your child’s grade, screen shot of Online Account (i.e. Infinite Campus) proving grade level, etc. 4. The knowledge surrounding COVID-19 is constantly changing and circumstances may warrant for changes throughout the season. Until COVID-19 is either eradicated, a vaccine is distributed, or a cure is found, there is no way to completely eliminate the risk of infection and as a result NCSAA strongly encourages all participants to follow these recommendations as safety precautions. The information is not intended or implied to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. We will have a testing protocol for coaches that will be announced once we get closer to the season. Before Taking Part in Activities: • All Coaches and Game Officials must have a negative COVID-19 (NV State Law) • Be symptom free for at least 14 days prior to any activity. • Stay home if you are sick or do not feel well. • Be aware of and disclose any potential contacts with affected individuals. • Wash and sanitize your hands often. • Ensure all equipment (cleats, ball, shin guards, practice bid/pinnies etc.) are sanitized before and after games/practice. • Do not touch your face, eyes or mouth with unclean hands. • Practice social distancing regularly. • Wear a face mask to reduce exposure to airborne particles. • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow if you cough or sneeze. • Parents and Coaches should assess level of risk based on individual players on the team who may be at higher risk for severe illness, such as children who may have asthma, diabetes, or other health problems. • Schools are encouraged to conduct a daily temperature check of the player for low grade fever (>100.4°F) before playing. • If a coach or student-athlete has tested positive for COVID-19, written confirmation of COVID-19 negative status and clearance from your physician must be provided to the school and NCSAA for return to full participation in sport & activity. During Games: • All Coaches & Sideline staff must wear a mask at all times • All players must wear a mask until game time. They are not required to wear a mask while playing. They are required to wear it prior to and after the game. • Refrain from attending any activity if displaying any COVID-19 symptoms. • Schools are encouraged to conduct a daily temperature check of the player for low grade fever (>100.4°F) before playing. • NCSAA reserves the right to not allow spectators to attend games. • Comply with all permissible regulations approved for the venue. • Wash and sanitize your hands often. • Do not touch your face, eyes or mouth with unclean hands. • Refrain from having physical contact with other participants and attendees (no high fives, hugs, fist bumps, etc). • Practice social distancing as often as possible. • Participants will need to wear a face mask while at the venue prior to and after each game. • Face coverings should be worn by coaches, youth sports staff, officials, parents, and spectators at all times. NCSAA reserves the right to ask those not complying to leave the premises immediately. Babies and children younger than 2 years old are not expected to wear a mask. Those with issues that may prevent you from wearing a mask are asked to refrain from attending for yours and others safety. • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow if you cough or sneeze. • Properly dispose of your personal drinking cups, bottles, or utensils used in the trash cans. • No sharing of water bottles, drinks, towels, cell phones, cleats, socks, shin guards, etc. • Place equipment, bags, etc. at least 6 feet apart • Each team will be responsible for sanitizing their game ball at each break when possible. • Each team will be responsible for having their own hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes. NCSAA and the Host Venue will not be providing these at the game site. There will be no post-game handshakes. • Teams and spectators will need to remain outside of the area of the game field until their game time. If the game prior to yours is running late, you should remain as far away as possible. NCSAA will try their best to spread out game times to avoid this when possible. • Spectators (if permitted) will be expected to social distance. Those not living in the same household should remain at least 6 feet apart from each other and at least 6 feet from any side or end lines. • Spectators should assess level of risk when deciding to attend a game or practice. Those who may be at higher risk for severe illness based on age or other health problems should refrain from attending. • We strongly encourage all participants to wear gloves. This will be at the discretion of each student-athlete and their parents. • Nonessential visitors, spectators, volunteers. Limit any nonessential visitors, spectators, volunteers, and activities involving external groups or organizations.

NCSAA Coronavirus Update & Survey3/24/2020 We wanted to give a quick update and then ask a favor.
Unfortunately, we have no real news to pass along. Much like most of the country, we're waiting to see what the next steps are? We will be following a couple things closely:
NOW... for the favor... Regardless of how the Spring Season unfolds we have to start planning for the 2020-2021 School Year. In doing so we need to figure out what rules worked and what needs to be reworked. This survey is a brief 4 question survey that should only take you a few minutes. Every coach of any sport is welcome to submit answers. The more feedback the better. We will not take your answers personally or be offended by them. We may, however, reach out at some point to ask for clarification or discuss. We ask that you keep your answers to be about the written rules and not about the officials. We'd love a response by Tuesday, April 7th. https://www.ncsaasports.com/rulesurvey.html We would like to reiterate everyday preventive actions that should be taken:

RULE CHANGES ADOPTED AT THE 11/19/19 WINTER BASKETBALL MEETING
REMINDER: Don't setup your own teams in National Sports ID. NCSAA will setup your National Sports ID Teams for you this season. We've had a few schools create their own teams incorrectly and this could cause issues later. This is how teams show as verified without physicals and waivers. A few schools did this incorrectly this Fall and had issues. We've made the process even easier, you just have to tell us what you need. Once you fill out your Winter Basketball Team Registration online at https://www.ncsaasports.com/basketballregistration.html we will build your team and add you as the Head Coach. You then add players by simply searching for returning player from Fall or send a personalized email link to those who didn't play in the Fall to join NSID. Returning players don't have to do anything. New players will have to do the entire process. You may re-submit your Basketball Registration as many times as you need until November 22 at 6PM. The earlier the better for our planning and for you to get started on the process. If you have already made your own teams make sure you add "Melanie Mark" as coaches so we can fix your settings and avoid issues.

Hi Everyone -
We held off on sending out any updates the first week of school. Hopefully, everyone has made it out in one piece. Here are some updates and reminders I wanted to pass along... 1.) Each school needs to do 2 things in order to register to play this Fall. First, we need you to go to our website and submit your team registration (if you haven’t done so yet) at https://www.ncsaasports.com/register.html You may make adjustments to this registration until Friday, August 30th at 6pm. If you need to make a change, simply re-submit the form. The earlier the better. Second, we need you to setup your teams in National Sports ID. 2.) National Sports ID is required for ALL student-athletes -- regardless of the age or sport. Everyone must be fully approved by September 11. Physicals are required for ALL student-athletes (K-8). They have an incredibly helpful chat for support in the bottom left of every page. If you run into an issue please use their chat or email admin@nationalsportsid.com. I prefer you go through them as they're the experts on the software. There is a duplicate roster feature that makes life easy once you setup your first team. Please remember to include your school's full name, division, and sport in the name. For instance "Pinecrest Cadence JV Girl's Volleyball" as opposed to "Cougars Athletics" or "PCC" As a quick review, here are the things parents will need in order to complete the National Sports ID:
4.) Flag Football - Once you register your teams through http://www.ncsaasports.com/register I will bring you 14 brand new triple threat flags (per team) for you to keep. Flag Playoff Dates will be: November 12-15 (at various sites under the lights) with our Championships being on November 16th at Pinecrest Sloan Canyon. The top 8 teams from each competitive division will make the playoffs. Playoff Brackets & Flag Football Rules are now online at https://www.ncsaasports.com/flag.html 5.) Volleyball - Rules are available on our website. Volleyball Playoffs will be: 1st Round Nov. 4-6 (various sites), Semi-finals Nov. 7-8 at Vegas Aces Volleyball Club Facility in Henderson, Championships on Saturday, November 9th (Location TBD - will be same location as Cheerleading Competition). Brackets & Rules can be found at https://www.ncsaasports.com/girlsvolleyball.html 6.) Playoff Seeding Tiebreakers for Flag Football & Volleyball: 1) Head to Head 2) Points/Sets Against (PA in Standings) 3) Schedule Strength (Opponents W/L) 4) Coin Toss 6.) Our Google Calendar was showing up for some as "free/busy" but didn't display the information to all. That has been fixed. Now it’s easier than ever to sync our NCSAA Calendar to your Google Calendar. This includes all of our deadlines for NCSAA for the entire 2019 – 2020 School Year and gets updated in real time by us. https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=sports%40ncsaasports.com&ctz=America%2FLos_Angeles You can also sync our calendar to your iCal: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/sports%40ncsaasports.com/public/basic.ics Lastly, all of our deadlines and important dates are available in the Events Section of our @NCSAASports Facebook Page. 7.) Cross Country Meet Locations Finalized: Event #1 - Monday Night, September 9th - Cornerstone Park Event #2 - Monday Night, September 16th - Craig Ranch Park Event #3 - Monday Night, September 23rd - Sunset Park Event #4 - Monday Night, September 30th - Kellogg Zaher Park Event #5 - Monday Night, October 7th - Exploration Peak Park Championships/Event #6 - Monday Night, October 21 - Desert Breeze Park *There are no qualifiers for Championships. Everyone will be eligible to compete. We need Parent Volunteers to help mark the course during each meet. If you could have a few parents that are willing to wear a vest for us and stand on the course to help guide runners we would appreciate it. VERY IMPORTANT: Due to the way Athletic.net is setup... if you're trying to register an Elementary Team... Register them as Middle School... then put them on their own separate team ... select their grades correctly. That will put them on a team together and we'll pull them as an elementary school team. 8.) Fall AD Meeting on Monday Night, August 26th from 6-8pm at Mater Bonanza (4760 E Bonanza Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89110). You may bring as many coaches as you’d like to the meeting. Guests that will be present:

A couple things we wanted to pass along before school starts. 1.) We are making a small scheduling adjustment for all of our competitive divisions. We will now schedule 8 games for everyone. Those who make the playoffs will continue to play. Those who don’t make the playoffs will end their season after the 8th game. This will allow for teams to be able to plan better for their games. 2.) We have flags for you! Once you have officially registered at https://www.ncsaasports.com/register.htmlwe will bring you 14 brand new Triple Threat Flags to use for games and practices (per registered team). 3.) REMINDER: If your school has a balance, we will not allow your teams to play this Fall. We have a few schools that still need to pay their bill from last school year. We need to try to get those paid right away. 4.) We emailed all of our school a step-by-step guide to setting up your teams in National Sports ID. It also shows you how to directly invite parents to register directly for your team. If you still need this guide, it's available for download below or you can email us. We’d be happy to send to you. You should have all of your teams setup in our system by the end of this week. a. Remember to use your school’s full name and division when setting up each team. Instead of making it “Wildcat Football” it should be something like “Somerset Lone Mountain Elem Comp Flag” b. Don’t forget to add in your Assistant Coaches. c. If you need help with the National Sports ID process at any point in the bottom left of the NSID page is a Live Chat feature. They are there to help you. You may also email then at admin@nationalsportsid.com d. Remember the deadline to have all of your student-athletes approved in National Sports ID is Wednesday, September 11. ![]()

NATIONAL SPORTS ID Say goodbye to bringing your team’s photo roster each week to NCSAA game sites! We’ve heard your roster complaints and understand how frustrating the process was last season. Now, every NCSAA student-athlete is required to certify on National Sports ID and complete all the steps before being eligible to play. Once they have certified they’re clear for the next 365 days. There is a link on our website or you can send them to: https://www.nationalsportsid.com/ncsaa-fall-sports-age-verification/ National Sports ID makes it easy for you to create a coach account, for parents or you to submit the documents and for NSID to view and verify them. Once approved players will receive a verified Sports ID stating their age and grade, which can be viewed on any device. Please take a few minutes and create a coach account, create your team and invite your players to get verified Sports ID’s. You can also view a sample verified team ID, a players verified sports ID or some frequently asked questions by clicking any of the buttons below.
